Book Signing - The Witcher Keys

Venue: WH Smith Green Mall

Date: 08 Feb 2014

Time: 12:00 - 15:00

“Heart-breaking, heart-stopping and breathless, frightening and funny. It plunges readers into danger and darkness. Crypts, caves, castles, mines, farms and mansions are its settings – good versus evil its theme…I don’t know if it’s the next Tolkien, JK Rowling, Philip Pullman or Derek Landy. I do know this is a fantastic, phantasmagorical read”

Scarborough News "A year of success for The Witcher Keys – the celebrated, dark, funny and gripping fantasy novel"

2013 was a great year for Ian Johnson’s debut novel - a mysterious and chilling adventure story based on a true encounter set on the North York Moors. With crossover appeal to the young adult market, The Witcher Keys was longlisted for The International Rubery Book Award for independent or self-published books ('extremely well-written, a thrilling tale of good and evil').

Ian himself undertook over twenty signings events around the country, something that he intends to build on in 2014. As a result of these successful signings high street retailer WH Smith will be selling the book in their science-fiction section across 300 stores nationwide.

The Witcher Keys is proving a hit with adults and young readers alike, many of whom would like to see the book brought to the big screen. Ian is currently in talks with various production companies who are looking at potentially developing the story. Bringing local folklore to life, The Witcher Keys looks set to reach a wealth of new readers in 2014.

This is no ordinary book! It was inspired by real events involving goblins on the North York Moors in 2003 Check out the website www.thewitcherkeys.co.uk for the whole story, plus maps and interviews.
