Valentines Get the Look

If there’s one day of the year that calls for you to really pamper yourself, whether you have big plans or not, it’s Valentines Day. Just two weeks away now (was New Year really a month away?!) it’s time to get looking for that perfect feel-good outfit as well as booking in to all of the best beauty treatments. And the newly refurbished House of Fraser in the Central Mall has everything you could ever need.

First things first, let’s talk about those all important beauty treatments which are essential if you’re wanting to treat yourself.  Nothing starts the day better than a good brow day, and in the ground floor of House of Fraser there’s two choices here, either the Benito or Benefit Brow Bar, both which will do an amazing job of ensuring those eyebrows (and eyelashes if you so wish) are looking the best they can. If your hair is after a much-needed lease of life, then the SHOW Blow Dry Bar located at the back of the store is exactly where you want to head. For a small price, the wonderful team of stylists will give your hair the ultimate red carpet style blow dries, up-dos and braids in as little as 20 minutes if you’re looking to impress. They use their own range of haircare products and each and every one will have your hair in a top condition, trust us, we’ve tried them all.

A brand that is new to the store is the incredibly beautiful Jo Malone whose stand is just at the entrance to the ground floor of the store.  Their packaging is unmistakable; as is their vast range of scented perfumes, hand creams and candles. As a treat for Valentines Day, they are offering complimentary hand massages too, which is something that can’t be missed. And if that isn’t enough, keep an eye out for their Red Roses scent which is a fragrance especially for this time of the year. Of course, we can’t forget about manicures can we? The Nails Inc Nail Bar at the back of the store has just about every nail care service you can imagine as well as every colour option you could possibly need – just look at that wall of nail polishes!

On the subject of makeup, House of Fraser is home to all of your favourite beauty brands if you want to treat yourself to a new lipstick or blusher. Our favourites include Bobbi Brown, Giorgio Armani, Chanel and Dior if you’re looking for something a little more luxurious. Their MUAs on each stand are always on hand to help you pick the colour and formula that’ll complement you and your outfit the most.

Speaking of outfits, this is going to depend mainly on what your plans for the day are. If you’re looking for something a little more formal, then the Ted Baker concession is a great shout. Their clothing range is full of classic cuts, in both neutral colours and brighter shades for whatever you prefer. And you can’t forget about their signature floral prints that are available in a wide range of bags and scarves. Another concession worth checking out is the House of Fraser exclusive Biba, whose collection is all about that 60s inspired glamour. Think strong prints, rich colour palettes and floor-length gowns, this brand is perfect for that formal occasion you may have planned. And if you’re on more of a budget, then the Miss Selfridge concession might just have the answers. Their tailoring is great to both dress up and dress down (depending on your day) and they make perfect transitional pieces going forward into the next season.

Finishing off, no outfit is complete without the right accessories right? And there’s one brand whose accessory design just scream Valentines Day and that is Lulu Guinness. Known for their icon lip-shaped clutch bags, here you’ll find everything from your classic purse, to tote bags and even card holders.
